P006 → Accordian Fold Book
This project was about conducting typographic sequences using principles from gestalts theory and grid systems. The selected text was Ellen Lupton’s, Thinking with Type because the reading helps determine the hierarchy. This work resulted in two versions of an accordion fold book. The first version was a sequence that was set up entirely in 9pt size so the hierarchy was about using different weights. The second version was about using scale and different weights so there was more exploration.
Working with grid systems, margins, and columns in Adobe InDesign was a big takeaway because working with many different Adobe programs teaches one to adapt quicker. Overall, the project served as a strong exercise in exploring typography and aligning the reading directly with the project’s objectives.
