Assessing Ellen Lupton's writing on “Thinking With Type” and integrating a distinctive style with images is a very thought provoking process. This project was about exploring typography and recognizing patterns in everyday objects. The chosen objects were various clothing items that were photographed over the course of a week.
The beginning of this project was writing an essay about Ellen Lupton’s writing. The second step to this process was deconstructing the language of the writing. The last step was developing a grid system for the hierarchy and incorporating color and image in the final compositions. What was learned through this process was how to align paragraphs and images together all with a cohesive flow. After reading “Thinking With Type”, the biggest takeaway was that the history of typography has come a long way and online writing has made a new audience as a whole.
